Background & Legal Experience
Before founding Jones Legal, Inc., Jennifer Jones built a diverse legal background across multiple practice areas. She began her career in an estate planning and probate law office, where she developed a strong commitment to client service that continues to shape her practice today. She later served as a judicial extern for the late Honorable Warren J. Ferguson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, gaining rare, firsthand insight into the judicial process.
Ms. Jones has dedicated significant time to serving the community, including work in a family law clinic that provided free legal aid to low-income clients, as well as preparing tax returns for families through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. Her professional experience includes positions at boutique to full-service law firms, where she handled matters involving contracts, probate, criminal, family, tax, and entertainment law, and civil litigation.
She has also represented one of the country’s largest school districts in special education litigation and related matters, successfully handling due process hearings, appeals, Title IX claims, labor disputes, and constitutional issues. In addition, she represented injured workers in complex workers’ compensation cases, negotiated settlements, and appeared before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board. She also proudly served as President of the California Applicants’ Attorneys Association (Greater Inland Empire Chapter).
Today, Ms. Jones focuses her practice on probate and estate planning matters throughout Southern California, providing trusted legal guidance to clients seeking to protect their assets, plan for the future, and resolve probate cases with confidence.
Education
Ms. Jones earned a B.A. in Rhetoric with a minor in Education from the University of California, Berkeley. She earned a Master of Education degree from Pepperdine University.
She earned a Juris Doctorate from Western State University, College of Law where she graduated cum laude, served on the law review, and served as President of the Black Law Student Association.
Before attending law school, she was an elementary school teacher for the Los Angeles Unified School District where she taught in the inner city reaching predominately African American and Latino students. She also assisted in drafting a charter school petition.
