Have you ever wondered how people get caught violating their restrictions while on workers’ compensation? I have seen shows like Dateline, and 20/20 and wondered, how could you not know someone is following or videotaping you? After becoming a surveillance investigator, I soon found the answer.
In this fast-paced world we now live in, we are so distracted by things like the radio, text messages, missed phone calls, and our GPS that we become completely unaware of our surroundings. Your neighbors can also give investigators valuable information, such as the type of vehicle you drive, and even the time you are most likely to be home. Knowing this, you should familiarize yourself with the cars on your block. If you see a vehicle you have never seen near your home with dark windows, this could be a possible surveillance investigator. One way to check if you are being followed is to observe if there is a vehicle that pulls out directly behind you as soon as you leave your house. If that is the case, then make three right turns. If that same vehicle is still behind you, then pull to the side and see if they pass. Another way to check is to make a few right turns with a safe and legal U-turn.
No matter what your physical restrictions or limitations are, as a result of your injury, when you are out in public, make sure you follow them. You never know who may be observing you.
